BioShock Infinite has been delayed into February 26, 2013, publisher Take-Two has announced.
“When we announced the release date of BioShock Infinite in March, we felt pretty good about the timing. Since then, we’ve uncovered opportunities to make Infinite into something even more extraordinary,” said Irrational Games Creative Director Ken Levine. “Therefore, to give our talented team the time they need to deliver the best Infinite possible, we’ve decided to move the game’s release to February.”
The Irrational Games creative director went on to say that the purpose of the delay was to give developers the space to ensure fans can get their hands on the finest version of BioShock… kind of the perfection Levine seeks for.
Infinite was originally pegged for the fall – the busiest schedules for big game releases. Though it’s common to see anticipated titles from that period pushed forward to a relatively lighter time of the year, and this time it is BioShock Infinite has been kicked off the late 2012 skyline.
